Nigerian Artist, Indian Singer Hemina Shah Drops Hindi AfroBeat Song ’Temperature’

Indian singer Hemina Shah brings you the first-ever Hindi Afrobeat song in collaboration with popular Nigerian artist GCN. The track named ‘Temperature’ released worldwide on February 24th as part of GCN’s EP titled ‘Glossolalia”, which means ‘mother-tongue’.  “Temperature” is a mixture of Hindi, Yoruba and Pidgin English vocals with a catchy Afrobeat.

“I’ve always been inspired by world music especially African music. So far I have been mixing old Bollywood cover songs with African beats to give it a completely different vibe. I was contacted by GCN to collaborate on the song and immediately fell in love with the beat. Within a couple of days, I wrote and recorded my part. His team absolutely loved it and the next thing I know it is mixed, mastered and ready for release! We shot a simple video which will also be released the same week.”
Along with Hemina’s fusion music, she has also been releasing Devotional music as well as conducting live virtual tribute sessions for families who have lost their loved ones.


Hemina is an Indian Singer and her parents were born in Kenya. she comes from a musical background and has had a passion for Indian music since the age of 7. Throughout her childhood

She started performing at Indian community events, competitions, and private events as a hobby. Her parents have been extremely encouraging and supportive, throughout her musical journey,

She is married into a Kenyan family and has a strong connection with Africa, a mother of 2 teenage kids. A lead female vocalist for a World-wide Soft drinks company advert that was aired in all Spanish-speaking countries in 2004. Her vocals were used in the remix of Tumhi Meri Mandir, which was number 1 in the Asian charts for several weeks.


In 2016 Hemina released her debut album consisting of 11 Indian and Punjabi songs. During the Covid period, She started to reach out to musicians around the World to see if they would be interested in collaborating with her to mix Bollywood cover songs with different types of World music.

She had the privilege to work with some Iranian musicians, Country Western musicians, Jazz, Reggae and African musicians from Zimbabwe. She started to reach out to more and more African musicians to recreate ki several old Indian songs giving it a completely different sound and posting music on social media.

She has always believed that music is one language and has the power to connect all cultures together. This in particular kept her connected to the World during the Covid pandemic.

Hemina Shah also went through a thyroid operation in 2021 where She almost lost her voice.
