Security Operatives Neutralize Over 100 Bandits In Niger

Over one hundred bandits have been neutralised by members of joint security operatives in Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga local government council of Niger state.

The bandits neutralised were terrorists that recently attacked Nasko, the headquarters of Magama local government council of the state.

During the attack, the bandits killed a DPO, two policemen and six members of vigilante corps.

The joint security operatives on a counter insurgency were also able to recover over eighty motorcycles from the bandits during the successful operation that was applauded by many residents who came out in large number celebrating such unpresidented feat.

In a related development, one policeman has been killed and an operational vehicle belonging to security agents has been burnt by the bandits.

Commissioner of Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security Mr Emmanuel Umar who did not comment on the number of bandits neutralised, however said the fight against insurgency in Niger state has been yeilding positive results.

Secretary to the Niger State Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane said that the state government remained resolute in its efforts at addressing all cases of crime and criminality until the battle is won.
