Kaduna Deputy Governor Tasks Women On Politics

Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr Hadiza Balarabe has called on women in the state not to relent in supporting women seeking political positions in the forthcoming election.

She stated at the International Women’s Day and Economic Empowerment programme organised by the National Council of Women Societies, Kaduna state chapter held in Kaduna.

Dr Hadiza Balarabe commended Governor Elrufai for making the largest appointments of women to public offices in Nigeria.

She stated that while Nigerian women were clamouring for 35% affirmative action, but Kaduna State had 46% of women appointees occupying various positions.

Dr. Hadiza Balarabe was of the opinion that, women should seek for positions with men because they also have abilities and can perform as much as men can.

She regretted that, women were in the habits of running each other down when it comes to politics, urged them to work assiduously in supporting each other.

The President of the National Council for Women Societies was the umbrella body of women NGO’s all over the country with the objective to promote the development of women, youths and people with disabilities.

Hajiya Zainab Hassan said the purpose of the gathering was to empower women that attended it’s skills acquisition training with starter pack.

She maintained, the National Council of Women Society is committed to ensure women in Kaduna State are happy and engage in a meaningful ventures.

Hajiya Zainab Hassan further revealed that, three hundred women had been benefited with the Skills acquisition training and received starter packs.

The State Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba among other women dignitaries attended the event.
