We’re Committed to Eradicating Societal Vices —HISBAH

The commander general of the Kano state hisbah board Sheikh Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina, has reaffirmed the agency’s readiness in mitigating societal vices and promoting peace among people.

He stated this during an interactive session with former senator representing Kaduna central,at hisbah headquarters sharada Kano.

According to the commander general, Hisbah was committed to ensuring mutual understanding and eradicating domestic violence and inculcating moral values among youths.

Sheikh Dr. Ibn Sina explained that the boards mandate include fighting drug abuse, indecent dressing, prostitution, forced marriage, women and child abuse among others.

The commander general said, the agency had intensified sensitization and advocacy visits to various stakeholders to seek for their cooperation in tackling immoral activities according to the teachings of Islam.

“It is a government agency saddled with responsibilities most of whom were drawn from Qura’n and Hadits”

Earlier in his remarks, Senator Shehu Sani said he was at hisbah to familiarize himself with the boards activities.

He described hisbah as one of the best in west Africa due to it’s tireless efforts in moving the state forward.

Senator Shehu Sani urged the agency to do more in terms of enlightening people especially those at the rural areas on the effects of terrorism and banditry.

He commended the agency for the warm reception and charged them to maintain the tempo.

“Am urging the board to confront activities of bandits and terrorists as both are using the name of Islam destroying and killing innocent people”

Radio Nigeria reports that, Kano state hisbah board has reiterated it’s readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders. Adding that, it’s doors are always open to receive those willing to assist the board in discharging it’s responsibilities deligently.
