National Council for Women Societies NCWS wants the National Assembly to reconsider the five gender bills that were dropped saying that it would address the imbalance, bias, and discrimination against Nigerian women.

The President of the National Council for Women Societies, Dr. Gloria Laraba who made the call at a news conference in Abuja emphasized that the bills would have also addressed the under-representation of women in the political landscape.

Dr. Gloria Laraba expressed dissatisfaction with the dwindling number of women in political space at federal and state legislative houses despite the large population controlled by women in the society.

The NCWS National President called on men in the national assembly to reverse the unfortunate situation and urged women to prevail on their representatives at the national assembly to give the bill a rethink.
