Lagos State Government says it is investigating a viral video showing kegs of petrol being handed out as souvenirs at an event Centre in the state. 

In a statement, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso announced that the Safety Commission was investigating the matter and would ensure that all parties to the action were made accountable.

Mr Omotoso Pointed out that there was no doubt that the action was dangerous and could have led to loss of life and property.

It was blatantly against all safety measures in such places,”. he added.

The Commissioner repeated what he said was the primary essence of government: namely ensuring the safety of lives and properties of the Lagosians and visitors alike. He said the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was alive to its responsibilities, and urged Lagosians to avoid actions that could lead to loss of life and property.
