NASENI Adopts Strategy To Address Youths Restiveness

National Agency For Science And Engineering Infrastructure NASENI has commenced the designing, fabricating and re-engineering of all processes that will bring desired technological development, industrialisation and innovations capable of addressing poverty, unemployment and ameliorating capital flight.

This is aimed at achieving its mandate of providing solid foundation for sustainable industrialisation of Nigeria.

The Executive Chairman and Chief Executive NASENI Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna stated this on the occasion of Science Equipment and Development Institute SEDI stakeholders forum in Minna Niger state.

Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna explained that inline with NASENI’s new vision to meet the challenges of our time, the SEDI Minna as one of its development institutes was repositioned for maximum benefits.

While commissioning a multi million naira Entrepreneurship Development Centre named after President Muhammadu Buhari, the Executive Vice President NASENI said the agency intends to use the centre to develop entrepreneurs and address issues of youth unemployment.

In a remark, the Managing Director, SEDI Minna, Prof Baba Ndaliman said the essence of the stakeholder’s forum was to provide an avenue for the institution to showcase researched and developed technologies of scientific equipment for major stakeholder’s evaluation for constructive criticism for further work to encourage scientific partnership.

Guest speaker and Commissioner, Niger state ministry of Tertiary Education Science and Technology Prof Abubakar Baba Aliyu represented by his Permanent Secretary Dr Abubakar Sadik while speaking on a paper titled Scientific Equipment as an imperative to education and scientific said education science and technology hold key to the present and future development of Nigeria.

Responding on behalf of awardees, former Kano state Governor Senator Kabir Ibrahim Gaya appealed to government and non governmental organisations to patronise SEDI to enable it achieve its mandate.
