KNSG Committed To Enhancing Wildlife Management – Official

The managing director of Kano state zoological garden and wildlife management agency, Alhaji Saidu Gwadabe Gwarzo, has reaffirmed the agency’s readiness in uplifting the operations of the zoological garden to international standard.

Alhaji Saidu,made the disclosure during an occasion to commemorate world wildlife day,held at elephant merquee, Botanical garden,Kano zoo.

According to him, the day was set aside by the United Nations Generally assembly to celebrate and raise awareness on world’s wild animals and plants.

The managing director explained that, as custodians of the wildlife animals and policies in the state, they had invited academics, students, botanists, zoologist and all relevant stakeholders, to enlighten them on the nature and conservationist policy in the state.

“Today is a day set aside by the united nations for celebrations and Kano is at the fore front of commemorating the day as custodians of wildlife”.

Earlier in his remarks, Kano state commissioner of tourism and culture, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Karaye, represented by director planning of the ministry, Malam Muhammad Tukur Jalal, reiterated the state government’s s readiness in promoting tourism and other cultural activities.

He charged relevant stakeholders to work asidiously in ensuring the well being of plants and animals,as his ministry would not relent in its efforts to achieve the desired objectives.

The commissioner commended management of the zoo for organizing the event and urged participants to make judicious use of the knowledge gained.

Dignitaries at the occasion include, Dean of life sciences Bayero University Kano, Professor NT Dabo , Dr. Mika’il Dabo, head of forestry and wildlife management department Bayero University Kano, Zonal coordinator national environment standard regulations and enforcement agency, Mr. Isma’il among others.
