KBSG Closes 7 Health Institutions For Breach Of Standards

Kebbi State Government has closed down about seven private health Institutions across the state for failure to meet the requirements by the state Ministry of Higher Education.

The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Muktar Bunzu, who made this known to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, said that, the affected institutions were of health related.

He said, the institutions that were closed are operating in Bunza, Yauri, Argungu, Bagudo and Zuru which failed to meet the requirements that includes laboratories, classrooms and library.

According to him, some of the affected institutions have been operating without any premises thereby using public primary school.

“Even if we close down we give them conditions that they must provide certain things to meet standard and immediately that is attain we allowed them to continue”.

The Commissioner pointed out that even government health institutions had to be renovated and put in place all requirements to meet the standard.

Professor Bunza, also disclosed that the State Governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu has directed the Ministry of Higher Education to source for educational collaboration between the state and Russia to enable the state send its indigenes study Medical and Engineering courses in the country.

He revealed that, by end of February this year, the second batch of fifty medical students would be proceeding to Sudan for study.
