The Group Managing Director, GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, Mele Kyari says the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, otherwise called petrol will normalize in the weeks ahead.

He said that before the end of the month, about 2.1 billion liters of the product would have been injected into the system.

Mr Kyari gave the assurance at a meeting with an Ad-hoc committee of the House of Representatives investigating the circumstances surrounding the importation of the adulterated fuel into the country.

The Chairman Mahmood Gaya, while expressing dissatisfaction on the current situation which has brought untold hardships on many citizens in some parts of the country, pointed out the need for the Petroleum limited to urgently proffer holistic measures to address the ugly situation.

It would be recalled that the unhealthy development has caused untold scarcity of the product, with Nigerians literally queing and sleeping at petrol stations in order to purchase some for their vehicles.
