Gov Tambuwal Takes Consultations To Zamfara Ahead OF 2023 Elections

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has called on political office holders in Zamfara state and the northern region to join hands irrespective of political difference to fight insecurity.

The Governor made the call during a consultation meeting in Zamfara with the People Democratic Party PDP delegates in Gusau the state capital.

Tambuwal said the security situation in the northern part of the country especially Zamfara needs collective efforts of all and sundry in bringing lasting peace to the region rather than politicizing it.

He advocated for a stakeholders meeting to discuss the challenging issues affecting the region and the country at large with a view to mapping out lasting solutions

The Governor who is aspiring for PDP Presidential ticket says he wonders how politicians could have time for politics when killing in the state has become the order of the day.

According to him, the high level of insecurity needs to be faced with all sense of seriousness, while expressing sympathy over the activities of bandits resulting in the killings of several innocent citizens.

Earlier, the team leader and the Former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa notes that it is time to kick start preparations for the 2023 general elections.

He recalled that in 2019 out of the seven contestants of the PDP Presidential aspirant from the Northwest, Tambawal was the second in votes.

Bafarawa urged the people of the state to embark on massive prayers for leaders in order to have the courage and wisdom to face the security challenges bedeviling the country.

In a remark, Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Mahdi Ali-Gusau urged delegates to remain steadfast for the success of the party in the state and country at large.

He appealed to the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambawal to carry everyone along if eventually won the Presidential election in 2023.
