NGO Trains 100 Youths On Mechanized Farming In Zaria

A Non-Governmental Organization-International Institute of Tropical Agriculture IITA has trained about one hundred youth of the Kakaki community in Zaria Local Government Area on mechanised farming systems.

The Executive Manager in Nigeria Ms Aline migusho Disclosed this while handing over
Grinding machines to the youth in Kakaki, Zaria.

Ms Aline Migusho Explained that IITA had the mandate to train the teeming youth on a mechanised system of farming to become self-reliant and improve the socio-economic development of communities.

She pointed out that apart from mechanised farming, the Organisation also trained people on poultry and fishery farming .

The executive manager Said the NGO supply Kakaki community with grinding machines to support women towards processing and marketing the farm produce.

She charged beneficiaries to utilize the machines to achieve the purpose they were made for.

Speaking, the Secretary, Kakaki Progressive Association’s Elders Forum, Dr Shehu Na Allah Saidu expressed satisfaction with the IITA for providing farming machines to his community to improve their well being.

Dr Shehu Saidu stressed the need for Organisation to provide more facilities to the community to achieved desired objectives.

Also, chairperson Kakaki community women wing Hajia Jummai Ibrahim assured the IITA that they would use the machine to achieve the aim of the organizers of the training.

Radio Nigeria reports that the Kakaki community, located in Zaria, Kaduna state, is one of the luckiest that benefited from different NGOs interventions across the country following the commitment and teamwork of the entire members of the community.
