Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani

Gumel Emirate Council has suspended two District and three Village Heads for negligence of duty.

The Secretary, Alhaji Murtala Aliyu disclosed this after the council’s emergency security meeting in Gumel Local Government Area of Jigawa State

He said the suspended District Heads include Kachallan Gumel of Jeke, Alhaji Sani Ibrahim and that of Shabaru Dan Furyan Gumel Alhaji Ismaila Muhammad while the Village heads include that of Mai zuwo, Garin Danga and Yan Baro.

Alhaji Murtala Alhaji explained that the council resolved to take the action pending the police investigation report.

According to him, the suspended village heads declined to report the suspected security problems in their areas to the emirate council on time.

He said the emirate council commended the police and other security agencies for arresting suspected kidnappers, recovered guns and ammunition, motorcycles and a large sum of money.

The Secretary added that, the emirate council had inaugurated a security  committee under the chairmanship of Dan Iyan Gumel, Alhaji Mohammed Aliyu.
