The Federal Executive Council has approved the dualization of the Kano-Kazaure-kongola highway.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, told State House correspondents that the 131.4 kilometer-road, which costs about 116 dollars, would be completed in 48 months.

He explained that the financing of the project would be done by the Tax Credit Scheme of Bua International Limited.

FEC also approved the Energy Transition Plan for Nigeria, aimed at facilitating her achievement of net zero carbon emission.

The Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, also said the Ministry of Environment got approval to evolve a Waste Battery Management Policy for the country.

The Minister explained that the policy on waste management would create jobs, and protect the health of Nigerians by ensuring that hazardous waste were properly disposed of.
