The Wukari Traditional Council in Taraba State Wednesday announced that the PANKAN (selection, crowning and oath taking) of a new Aku Uka has been scheduled for Friday 28th January, 2022 at Bye-vyi and Kuntsa.

A statement signed and made available to journalists in Jalingo by the Special Adviser to Aku Uka, Jolly Agbu Masa-Ibi said the triumphant entry from Puje to Wukari will take place on Saturday 29th January, 2022.

It explained that the programme will commence with the arrival of Princes, Waziris and well wishers (Males only) at 9am.

The statement added that Kunvyi’s inspection of Princes for selection and AWIWO is slated for 11 am, concluding the event at Bye-vyi.

Also at 12 noon, the procession of the crowned Aku Uka sets out for Kuntsa for oath of allegiance, while at 1:30 pm, procession of the crowned Aku to Puje will commence as Jukun sons and daughters are to assemble by 2:30pm to welcome the new Aku Uka who is expected to address them by 3:45pm.

Day two’s schedule according to the statement, will also commence at 9:00am with procession of Wakuku from Puje to Wukari and procession of the crowned Aku Uka from Puje to Wukari with a visit to Wapa-nghaku Traditional Site.
