Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mowe unit command of Ogun State Sector Command, have rendered assistance to a woman in labour while in transit.

A statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC, Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem, said the assistance, which occurred on Friday, became imperative in order to save the lives of the pregnant woman and her baby.

While on patrol at Mowe, the FRSC team, led by Deputy Route Commander Damilola Osiyemi of Mowe Unit Command, provided emergency help to the woman who was in labour at about 1430hours on Friday.

“The woman, Mrs Ola of No 7, Aiyegbami street Sagamu boarded a vehicle Mitsubishi space wagon with Reg No FKJ 904 HE from Sagamu,” he explained.

“She was sighted in labour and she was later rushed to Broad Life Hospital, Olowotedo near NASFAT area, Mowe Ogun State by the team where she later delivered a baby girl.”

Mr Kazeem said the command would not relent in its determination to do anything that would safeguard the lives and property of the residents of Ogun on the road and Nigeria at large .

He urged all motorists to desist from flouting traffic rules and regulations to reduce traffic congestions.
