The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency, (KWEPA), has evacuated over fifty (50) street beggars on Gerin-Alimi bridge for constituting environmental nuisance.

The street beggars were sent away from the Geri-alimi bridge after well meaning residents of the state sent in reports of environmental violations on the part of the beggars.

The activities of the beggars are said to sabotage the efforts of the state government in keeping the environment clean.

The General Manager of the Agency, Alhaji Sa’ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, who led the enforcement team to Inspect the site advised the beggars not to return to the location.

He also warned that anyone caught will be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the law.
