House of Representatives is to reintroduce the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021 for further legislative action and passage tomorrow wednesday 19th January 2022

Speaker of the house Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, announced this while welcoming members from Christmas and end of the year break.

Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, explained that the decision was part of plans to address the mitigating concerns hindering the smooth assent of the Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Speaker emphasized that the need to reform the nomination process by the political parties in the country was as important as the general elections and would allow more citizens participate in nations politics.

He further confirmed that the house would equally give priority to the process to address the long standing areas of disagreement and conform with the current realities.
