Polio Immunization: Jigawa Targets Over 71,000 Children

About 71, 558 children are targeted to be immunized against polio in Birniwa local government area of jigawa state.

The Health Promotion Officer of the local government, Mallam Habu Muhammad made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria. 

He explained that, 237 adhoc staff were trained ahead of the immunization exercise.

Also speaking, the Manager Primary health care development agency local, Adamu Muhammad Yakima commended the local government for its logistics support to the agency.

Similarly, more than 81,000 children below five years are expected to be immunized against polio in Kaugama local government area.

The health promotion officer of the local government, Mallam Babale Dakayyawa  said 253 adhoc staff had been employed for the conduct of the immunization.

In their separate remarks, the chairman of Birniwa local government council, Alhaji Umar Baffa and his Kaugama counterpart, Alhaji Idris Mati Hadin reaffirmed their commitments to boost the heath sector.
