FG Hands Over About 3000 Solar Street Lights, Others To Kano State

Federal Government has reaffirmed its Determination in providing more developmental projects especially in rural areas aimed at reducing the migration of rural dwellers to urban centers.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Alhaji Mohammad Mahmoud stated this during the commissioning and handing over of Solar streetlights, motorized boreholes, and other facilities to the kano state government.

He said the Administration of president Muhammadu Buhari was According priority to the Agricultural sector geared towards providing enough food that would feed the Nation.

The minister who was represented by a deputy director in the ministry Dr. Abdulkareem Durosalam said over the years the federal ministry had done several projects in States across the federation which was geared towards uplifting the well-being of rural dwellers.

” you cannot separate agriculture from rural communities, so if you provide good roads the good they produce would have easy access to the Markets, and it would enhance the economy of the Nation”

Alhaji Mohammad Mahmoud said 2,970 Street lights were constructed and installed Across the 44 local government areas of the state, 111 Solar boreholes, 3 boreholes holes, over 101km access roads, and Six mini water treatment plants.

Responding, Kano state Deputy governor Dr. Nasir Yusif Gawuna who Doubles as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources applauded federal government’s efforts in providing the infrastructure.

The Deputy Governor who was represented by the permanent secretary of ministry Alhaji Balarabe Hassan Karaye said the projects would go a long way in enhancing food production in the state and the Nation at large

He Assured the federal government that the infrastructure would be properly and judiciously utilized.
