Jigawa to apply Digital Technology to Control Allocation of Lands

Jigawa state says it will apply digital technology to control illegal and manual allocation of lands in the state.

The state commissioner of land, housing urban development and regional planning, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed disclosed this  during a media engagement organised by the state correspondent’s chapel held at manpower development institute Dutse.

He described land development control and illegal manual allocation as major challenges in the state.

According to him, the present administration will do all its best to enhance land administration and effective management.

Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed pointed out that,  thousands hectares of land was allocated to health, agric and education sectors for various development projects across the state.

He added that, about 192,000 hectares was allocated to agricultural sector for agricultural extensions while 2,500 hectares allocated for solar energy production.

The Commissioner further explained that, over 220,000 hectares of land was allocated for grazing reserve, 411,000 hectares for dry seasons farming and over 1.4,000 hectares is meant for rainy seasons farming across the state.

Sagir Musa therefore commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for improving lives of Jigawa citizens through agriculture, health, water supply, education and empowerment of women and youths.
