General Officer Commanding (GOC) One Division, Nigerian Army Kaduna, Major General Kabir Mukhtar has commended the Nigerian Defence Academy-NDA for producing skillful and result-oriented officers in all spheres of military life.
In a statement by the Academy’s spokesperson Major Bashir Muhammed Jajira, the GOC says this during cadets’ brigade first quarter inter-battalion shooting competition at the Academy’s shooting range, Afaka.
Major General Kabir Mukhtar noted that the re-introduction and re-activation of the Academy’s shooting range gallery and intensive combat shooting exercise have demonstrated the resolve of the Academy to produce officers that would make the nation proud.
Earlier, Commandant of the NDA Major General Ibrahim Manu Yusuf explained that the competition was designed to display the proficiency of cadets in combat shooting and weapon handling.
He said the shooting and weapons handling skills would always be harped on cadets as they journey into becoming commissioned officers of the Armed forces.
