KBSG Spends Over N900M On Foreign Scholarship – Commissioner

The Kebbi State Government has expended over nine hundred and forty million naira to sponsor two hundred and sixty two indigent students to study various programmes in foreign countries.

Commissioner for higher education, Professor Muktar Bunza, stated this at a press briefing in his office in Birnin Kebbi.

He said, over six hundred million naira will cover tuition fees, accommodation, feeding and pocket money while three hundred and forty five million naira was meant for logistics such as result and security certification, visa, foreign affairs and local flight ticket.

The Commissioner said, fifty six students would study medicine, while two hundred and sixty will study engineering and para-medical courses.

According to him, arrangements have reach almost ninety percent for the first batch of two hundred students to move to the countries of their study of India, Ukraine and Sudan.

Equally, the Commissioner announced that, the National University Commission NUC, has fully accredited the State University of Sciences and Technology Aleiro with over thirty three programmes.

He said, National Certificate of Education NCE, at Adamu Augie College of Education Argungu has been fully accredited as well as nine degree programmes in affiliation with Usman Danfodio University Sokoto by the National Commission for Colleges of Education.
