The Vice Chancellor of Yusuf Maitama sule University Kano Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa has reaffirmed the University’s commitment in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in all the campuses of the Institution.

Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa stated this during the opening ceremony of a two day workshop on Security Strategy for the protection of lives and Property amid the security challenges in University Campuses across the country held at police headquarters in kano.

He said the aim of the training was to acquaint the Security personnel of the University with the requisite security skills and training , aimed at enhancing security in the university community.

The Vice Chancellor explained that the training would pave way for the participants to expand there knowledge and experience geared towards achieving the stated goals.

He applauded the cordial relationship that existed between the Nigerian police and the University Community, and urged the participants to make maximum utilization of the experience they would acquire during the training .

In a remark the Commissioner of Police Kano Command CP Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko said the Command would not relent in ensuring adequate security of lives and property of the general populace of the State.

He maitained that the participants would be trained on modern policing and intelligence gathering, aimed at enhancing security in the University Community.

Over sixty security personnel of Yusif Maitama sule University would be trained during the workshop.
