Enhancing Bilateral Ties Key To Africa Development- Emir

The need to strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and the Republic of Uganda has been described as a great tool for improving the economic development of the two countries.

Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero stated this while receiving the ambassador of Uganda in Nigeria who paid on a courtesy visit to his palace.

He said the bilateral relationship between the two countries has been in existence for decades which has contributed positively to the development of the two nations.

The Emir explained that there was the need to enhance relationship between the countries especially on agriculture, health services and other societal development issues.

” Nigeria and Uganda are like brothers because we share alot of things in common, so I hope the bilateral relationship would continue”

Earlier the Ambassador of Uganda to Nigeria Mr. Nelson Ocheger said he was at the palace to introduce himself as the new ambassador to Nigeria and to receive royal blessings.

He said traditional institutions played a vital role in uplifting the well-being of the general populace, hence efforts needed to be put together between governments and the traditional institutions with the aim of building a better society.

” I’m soliciting for your kind approval your Highness to extend the relationship with our traditional leaders in Uganda so that cultural and traditional idea would be shared between the two countries with the aim of boosting tourism and bilateral relations”

Mr Nelson Ocheger commended the Emir for his tireless efforts in supporting Government policies and programmes geared towards achieving set objectives
