Newly Appointed Pro-Chancellor YUMSUK, Assumes Duty

The newly appointed and inaugurated Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano, Prof. J.D. Amin has assumed duty.

In a statement signed by the Head of information,Publications , Protocol and Public relations officer Abdullahi Hassan Abba said the Chairman assumed the duty alongside other newly appointed members of the Governing Council.
On assuming duty, the Pro-Chancellor presided over first meeting of the new Governing Council of the University.

It stated that during the meeting, the Chairman briefed members of the council on his mission and vision towards moving the university forward.
The Pro-Chancellor’s first meeting was conducted at the Council Chamber of the University, Senate Building, Main Campus.

In his opening remark the new Pro-Chancellor assured to serve the university diligently by taking it to greater height.

Prof. J.D. Amin noted with delight the achievements so far recorded by the University despite its young age.
The Chairman said the University would work hand in hand with the Kano State Government and other stakeholders aimed at uplifting the standard of the university.

While assuring to carry everybody along, he urged the entire university community to contribute their quota by cooperating with the new council with a view to achieving the desired objectives of taking the university to the best level it could reach.

He expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for the opportunity given to them to contribute their quota in developing the university.
He noted that the university witnessed tremendous developments in terms of physical infrastructure, staffing and training among other developmental strides.

He enjoined the council members to give him cooperation.

Receiving the new pro-chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa assured the new council of the University’s Management total support and cooperation aimed at attaining the mission and vision of establishing the institution.
