Zamfara State Urban and Region Planning Directorate has assured readiness to beautify the major cities in the State towards competing with others across the country.

The Director General of the agency Alhaji Idris Garba Rikiji disclose this in an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria In Gusau.

Alhaji Idris Rikiji said they were working closely with the mother ministry and sister agencies to map out strategies that would enhance the development of Gusau as the state capital and other local government areas in the programme.

According to him, the directorate has embarked on sensitisation campaigns to educate the public about their activities and called on them to join hands towards developing the state entirely.

Alhaji Rikiji also warned people against erecting illegal structures, such as billboards, encroachment, commercialising roadsides among others saying anyone found wanting would face the wrath of the law.

The Director-General further explained that the administration under the leadership of governor Bello Matawalle had constructed drainage n the ancient city of Gusau, tarred roads, solar-powered street lights among others.

He, therefore, enjoined the people to complement government efforts by contributing their quota toward the development of the state through timely and regular payment of levies to enable it to execute more meaningful and developmental projects.

He advise the public to report anyone found destroying government properties meant for improving the living standard of the citizens to the nearest authority for prompt action.
