Jigawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to implement policies as well as transform agricultural sector .

Governor Badaru Abubakar stated this  while flagging off mass wheat farming at Marke town in Kaugama local government area of the state.

He explained that the present administration had made agriculture sector one of its top priorities to boost food production and ensure economic growth in the state and the country in general.

Badaru Abubakar said the state government had achieved a lot in the production of rice, wheat , sesame and hibiscus among others.

According to him, wheat farming was organized by National Agricultural Land Development NALDA in collaboration with the state ministry of agriculture to support farmers.

In his speech, the executive secretary of NALDA Prince Paul Ikonne said the program was flagged off in Jigawa state was in recognition of Governor Badaru Abubakar’s giant stride in the agricultural sector.

Radio Nigeria reports that about three hundred farmers are to benefit from the 100 hectares wheat production in the state.
