This was sequel to a motion by a member from Jigawa state, Alhaj Muhammad Gudaji Kazaure adopted by the lawmakers during the house plenary.

The lawmaker who expressed concern over rampant cases of attacks on Correctional Centres across the country, leading jailbreaks said if fully supported with modern security electric fences and CCTV cameras all suspicious movement could easily be detected.

Adopting the motion, the house also stressed the need for Federal Government to take over payment of electricity bills of the Correctional Centres nationwide considering the huge amount of money the centres are spending in that regard.

The house further mandated its committee on appropriation to make special allocation in the 2022 budget to include the upgrade of correctional centres for uptimal performance.
