Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, loyal to Speaker Yakubu Sanda said they impeached the embattled Speaker Abok Ayuba for refusal to reconvene the House as well as dictatorial tendencies.
Addressing journalists in Jos, Majority leader of the House Naanlong Daniel Gapyil also gave reasons for the impeachment to include gross incompetence and using a fake mace to hold illegal sitting outside the House.
Flanked by 11out of the 24 members of the House,Naanlong called on the Inspector General of Police to unseal the Assembly complex to enable members to resume their legislative business particularly on the the twenty twenty two budget deliberations which had begun before the sealing of the complex.
The majority leader, in his text stated that, the house has met the constitutional requirements in removing its speaker Abok Ayuba and appointing a new one.
He went on to assure the constituents and the people of Plateau that they will continue to operate a people oriented legislature and work closely with the other arms of Government in providing the needed representation.
Daniel insisted that, sixteen out of the twenty four lawmakers signed the impeachment notice against the former speaker.
