Industrial Training Fund has expressed concern that despite efforts by Federal Government to reduce unemployment, lack of jobs has continue to lead to numerous social and insecurity challenges particularly in Kaduna state and the country.

Director General of the Fund, Sir Joseph Ari stated this during an interactive forum with stakeholders in Kaduna.

The Director General who was represented by the Area Manager, ITF Kaduna Office Mallam Yahya Manu said due to urgent need to create jobs through technical vocation skills acquisition the ITF declared this year as the ‘skills escalation for prosperity’ in order to empower Nigerians

He explained that the theme of this year’s interactive forum was employment skills escalation, the role of ITF and stakeholders. As part of efforts to deliberate and take decisions for development of the country.

Sir, Joseph Ari further explained that ITF conducted a skills survey of agriculture and agro-allied, textile, construction, infrastructure, health, information and communication for Kaduna State Government.

In a remark, the representative of Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Kaduna State, Mr. Baye Peter Nama said the state had partnered Bank of Industry and Kaduna business school and trained over five thousand individuals.

He explained that the state government also linked beneficiaries to either start up or grow existing businesses.

Mr. Baye Namu further explained that government developed a frame work for the management of innovation persons and ideas in the state.

” The aim is to provide a government support environment for innovation to be incubated, promoted, protected and commercialized where possible” he said.

In a paper presentation, Mr. Moshoud Adegbite emphasized the need for Industrial Training Fund to focus more on less privileged in order to give them of sense of belonging.

Stakeholders from various organizations participated at the meeting.
