Security and education have been described as a bedrock of national development.

The Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi stated this at the tenth graduation ceremony of Dutse standard school in jigawa state.

According to him, the current security challenges faced in some parts of the country such as kidnapping, killing of innocent lives is as a result of lack of Islamic and western education.

Dr Nuhu Sunusi who was represented by the Galadiman Dutse, Alhaji Basiru Muhammadu Sunusi urged teachers to redouble their efforts in imparting knowledge and moral characters among their pupils to boost their morale for the benefit of jigawa state and Nigeria in general.

He also described the provision of education as the foremost responsibility of parents to their children.

The Emir enjoined children to strive in the quest for knowledge as no society can develop without sound education.

In his Speech, the Special guest of honour Professor Ismail Tsiga explained that the Dutse standard school has achieved alot in the promotion of education in the state.

Professor Tsiga therefore advocate for more investment on education, pointing out that the current situation and crises is as a result of inadequate or lack of education across the country.

He said parents must make every possible effort to encourage children to learn to read as reading is the foundation of learning.

He also urged teachers and parents to discourage children from undue exposure to electronic equipment at a very early age.

Also speaking, the Chairperson of the PTA Hajiya Rukayya Bello Rugga noted that some of the achievements made by the association include water projects and bookshelves for the pupils amongst others.

She said they will continue to actively  collaborate to deliver more project that will impact development of the school in order to provide good learning environment to the children.

Radio Nigeria reports that prizes were given to some best students and staff of the school.
