FG To Provide More Funding To End Insecurity -Minister

The Minister of Defence Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd) has reiterated federal government’s commitment to providing the needed resources to prosecute all ongoing military operations across the country. 

General Magashi stated this while briefing newsmen after more that two hours closed door meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai and other senior military officers at command and control centre Maimalari cantonment Maiduguri. 

He explained that the visit is to assess the progress of the counter insurgency operations in the northeast. 

According  to him remarkable successes have been recorded in the theater, noting that the troops are in high spirit to end the operation. 

“am here to see the progress of the operations officially invited by the CDS so that we can put our heads together and see if new ideas can come to be able to finish up what we have started. The success is not too far away, the Minister stressed “.

The Minister said with the determination and commitment of the troops, the war against insurgency in the northeast would soon be concluded.

General Magashi announced that the military would soon commence another phase of operation, calling on Nigerians to support the armed forces. 

Earlier, the Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai Major General Christopher Musa said the troops are ready more than ever before to prosecute the war on terror. 

The Minister of Defence and his entourage later visited wounded in action and recuperating troops at 7 Division hospital and inaugurated some projects in Maimalari cantonment.
