President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to collaborate with the private sector towards the pursuit of economic growth that could create jobs and lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

Represented by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo virtually, President Buhari made the pledge while declaring open the Nigeria Economic Summit (NES) 27 in Abuja which began today with its theme Securing Our Future: The Fierce Urgency of Now.

The President expressed the hope that the collaboration will bring about rebuilding the infrastructure, provide employment and empower the youths.

The former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Hailemariam Dessalegn at the event called on both political and captains of Industry to remain committed, be included, and provide effective governance in all strata of the economy as is being done in Ethiopia.

The Former Prime Minister commended Nigeria in her various giant strides in spite of insecurity and the global COVID-19 Pandemic but stressed that more needed to be done.
