Anambra State Deputy Governor Mr. Nkem Okereke, has defected from APGA to the APC.

After his defection, the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State presented Mr. Okereke to President Buhari for recognition.

Speaking with newsmen afterward, Governor Uzodinma called on the people of the southeast to join the APC, which he described as the winning party, to lure in rapid development.

He also called on secessionists to shelve what he called their fruitless agitation and participate actively in mainstream politics to be able to have a voice in planning the scheme of affairs.

The Governor said the security situation in Imo State had now normalized, lamenting however that a large amount of money spent in maintaining such an unnecessary situation would have been directed to providing the core needs of the people.
