Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has sworn in 18 newly appointed Commissioners, 11 Special Advisers, Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service and 3 Permanent Secretaries to serve under his administration.

The ceremony which took place at Government House Gusau, was first of it’s kind as all the newly appointed officials were told to swear in the name of Almighty God that, they never rendered in any form of support to bandits in carrying their operations in the state and beyond.

After the constitutionally recognized Oath of Office led by Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kulu Aliyu, then followed by a religious oath which was recited over by the State Grand Khadi, Dahiru Mohammed Gusau.

The Grand Khadi Dahiru Muhammad asked the newly appointed officials to swear that, they had never engaged in activities in favour of banditry, kidnapping and or cattle rustling.

Part of the oath “And I had never enjoyed killing of innocent lives or destruction of legally generated properties and will never do so, and that if I had in anyway assist banditry, may Almighty God curse me to the extent I will never achieve my dreams here in the world and the hereafter.”

Also Speaking, Governor Matawalle, said he found it necessary to swear in the newly appointed officials according to Islamic rites so that he would be contended that all his assistants were completely innocent and would serve government’s policies as expected.

Governor Matawalle also insisted that all the dissolved Commissioners should appear to take the same oath with a view to ensure his administration did not work with bad eggs who might have engaged in banditry activities during their stay in office as Commissioners or Special Advisers.
