An accident has claimed the lives of two people 20 year old Shamsu Bala and 25 years old Mustapha Sani while three victims sustained various degree of injuries along Murtala Muhammad Way Kano.

The public relations officer of the Kano state fire service Saminu Yusif Abdullahi confirmed the incident to newsmen in kano

According to him,the agency recieved a distress call from Malam Ahmed Abdullahi at about 7:40 am that two vehicles were involved in an accident.

He maintained that, a rescue them was quickly mobilized to the scene of the incident where two men were rescued unconcious and later confirmed dead while three others Abdullahi Dikko, Hamidu Ahmed and Imrana Ibrahim were severely injured.

Simimarly, another accident had occured at Sharada Kwanar Kasuwa where a private car and a tricycle where involved in a clash that left many injured.

Saminu Yusif Abdullahi decried over rising deaths due to different disasters in Kano as eight people lost their lives due to drowning and road accidents in the month of September.

He pointed out that,one hundred and one of lives were saved while estimated properties lost stood at seven million three hundred and fifth thousand naira during the month under review.

He said the Kano state fire service recieved seventy seven rescue calls,twenty one fire calls and eleven false alarms.

The public relations officer urged the general public to handle fire with care to avoid inferno,abide by traffic rules and be more vigilant on children and teenagers due to high rate of drowning during local swimming.
