Covid-19 : Zamfara Receives About 66,000 Doses Of Vaccines

Zamfara State government has received about sixty six thousand doses of Moderna vaccine for the second round of covid-19 vaccination across the state.

Chairman, Zamfara State Covid-19 Task Force Committee and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya announced this when he formally collected the vaccines at the state cold store in Samaru area.

Nasiru Magarya said the state had received the highest number of the vaccines following the successful administration of the first dose of the vaccines which yielded positive result in curbing the spread of the virus in the state.

He added that, adequate arrangements were put in place during the last pandemic in addressing the issue in the state, adding that all Covid 19 protocols were fully and carefully observed.

The committee chairman remarked that a well equipped isolation center was also built at Damba with all the facilities and personnel.

He called on the people of the state to come out and receive the doses of Moderna vaccine except those that have received the first round of Astrezenaca vaccines.

In their separate remarks, the Representatives of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency and UNICEF, Dr Namadi Lawan and Adebayo Bolaji said Zamfara is in the front line in administering the astrazenaca vaccines which resulted to increase of Moderna vaccine for the second round vaccination.

In his contribution, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of health, Dr Habibu Yelwa commended the efforts of the donor partners in provision of adequate vaccines to the state and called on them to strategies more efforts in addressing the issue of cholera across the state.
