Gunmen have abducted the Niger state Commissioner for Information and Strategy Alh Muhammad Sani Idris in Tafa local government council.

The gunmen numbering about twenty invaded his house at Baban Tunga village in Tafa local government council in the late hours of yesterday and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

They storm his house under a heavy downpour where they started shooting in the air sporadically to scare locals and abducted him in front of his wife after beating them up.

Though some members of vigilante were at hand to save the situation but the gunmen had left with Alh Muhammad Sani Idris before their arrival.

As at the time of filing in this report the gunmen are yet to make any contact with his family members or government official on amount needed to secure his release.

Niger state police command is yet to make any official statement on the abduction at the time of filing this report
