Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state says his administration is prioritizing attention to improve primary health care service geared towards enhancing effective service delivery in the health sector .

The Governor stated this during the Primary Health Care Investment Summit 2021, held at Government House Kano.

He said his administration had employed forty four qualified medical doctors.

“one doctor was posted to primary Health care at each local Government with the aim of providing the needed heath attention at the facilities”

Dr Uma Ganduje urged wealthy individuals and philanthropist to complement government efforts by donating needed drugs and facilities in various primary health care centres aimed at improving the sector.

During the summit, various donations and pledges were made, geared towards enhancing the Sector.

In a remark, the Leader of the House of Representatives Alhaji Alhassan Ado Doguwa said they would focus their attention on strengthening primary health care in their constituencies through constituency projects.

He commended the Ganduje administration for its commitment in key sectors of health, education and security.

Earlier The Deputy Speaker, Kano House of Assembly on behalf of the members of the House, also made a commitment to focusing on health related projects.

The Honourable Minister for Agriculture Alhaji Sabo Nanono and the former Managing Director Nigerian Ports Authority, Alhaji Aminu Dabo both made a commitment of N2 millon each.

The Kano Chief of Staff, Mr Ali Makoda, also announced the donation of N2 million naira on behalf of the Members of the Kano Executive Council.

Also, the state Commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Mr Idris Garba announced the donation of N40 million naira by some contractors engaged in various projects across the state.

The Association of Wives of the Nigerian Naval Staff pledged to construct a health facility in the state for women and children.
