Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state have enjoined the people of the state to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood and virtues that symbolized the holy season for the sole purpose of securing the reward from the Almighty and the benefit of the society.

The governor stated this in his Sallah address to the people of the state.

He urged the people in the state to use the period of leisure and reflection on the diviine favour humanity enjoys and remain grateful to the Almighty.

In response to current state of insecurity, the Governor said the state have not relented in its efforts to tackle the situation through sustained support to security agencies.


Tambuwal said although the attacks still persist in some communities, the state collaboration has recorded successes in capturing and containing bandits and kidnappers in the state.

The Governor commended the cooperation of the traditional institution and supplications of the Ulama under the guidance of His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto.

Mr. Tambuwal added that the value and efficacy of prayers cannot be overemphasized, especially in this period of worship.
