Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor says the containment of security challenges across the country requires inputs of all stakeholders.

He stated this at an interactive session with retired military officers from the North-west geo-political zone held in Kaduna.

General Lucky Irabor explained that as members of the military, the retired officers stand a better chance to appreciate these issues due to their wide contacts, and interaction with other members of the society.

He maintained that the inputs gathered would help the armed forces improve significantly in its operations.

General Irabor expressed the hope that the engagement would be beneficial, with a view to having a better security environment where every life and property would be protected.

Earlier in his address, General Officer Commanding One Division, Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi noted that Nigeria has been passing through challenging times, especially those vested with the responsibility of defence and security.

Represented by Brigadier General Adeleke Ayennuga, the GOC said Kaduna and Niger states in particular have recorded disturbing levels of attacks and kidnapping in vulnerable communities and schools.

He maintained that efforts by the division at confronting these threats are beginning to yield desired results by significantly degrading the bandits and facilitating the return of civilians to previously abandoned communities.

The GOC assured that no stone would be left unturned until Nigerians are able to go about their legitimate businesses without fear of intimidation.

Major General Ali-Keffi attributed the successes achieved so far to the fruitful collaboration with sister security agencies.

He commended the defence and service chiefs for being relentless in availing the required support, as well as the retired military officers for their patriotic zeal in providing valuable information and tips to the division, which have aided it in its operations.
