Thirteen Policemen, two civilian are being killed while six other police offices sustained various injuries when Bandits ambushed them along Kurar Mota Village of Bungudu Local Government area of Zamfara State.

A resident of the area who spoke on condition of anonymity told Radio Nigeria in a telephone interview that, the Bandits numbering about fifty riding motorcycles attacked farmers while they were busy working in their farms living two dead.

According to him, on sighting the police operatives, the Bandits ambushed and overwhelmed them, resulted in killing 13 officers, six sustained serious gunshots after which the Bandits fled to the bush.

The slain officers and the injured were conveyed to Yarima Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau in a convoy of police vehicles.

When Contacted, the spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu to speak on the issue proved abortive, but the Special Assistant to the zamfara state governor on New Media, Ibrahim Zauma confirmed the incident adding that the governor had cancelled his schedules to mourn the fallen police officers.

He said the Governor was shocked over the bandit’s incursion which claimed the lives of the police officers while prayed for the departed souls.
