Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has approved the appointment of Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe, who is currently the Director for Public Prosecution with the state Ministry of Justice, as acting Executive Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

This was contained in a media statement signed by the chief press secretary to the Governor Malam Abba Anwar and made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano.

The statement explained that the appointment is with immediate effect and directed the acting Executive Chairman to discharge his duties diligently, according to the laid down procedures establishing the Commission.

Radio Nigeria recalled that the former executive chairman of the Commission Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin gado was suspended by Kano state house of Assembly for refusing to accept an Accountant posted from the office of the Kano State Accountant General.

The House had directed its committee to conduct an investigation on Muhyi Magaji Rimin gado and submit a report to the house within two weeks.
