Governor Bello Matawalle of zamfara state has approved the suspension of Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for alleged involvement in the escalating rate of banditry attacks in his emirate.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Acting Secretary to the State government Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe in Gusau.

The statement explained that, a 9 man committee had been constituted to investigate the allegation under the chairmanship of the former Deputy Governor of the state Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad and other top government officials including representatives of Security agencies.

According to the statement, the committee is expected to submit its report within 3 weeks.

It added that, Alhaju Bello Suleiman (Bunun kanwa) would take charge the affairs of the Emirate immediately.
