The National Security Civil Defense Corps has unveiled an all-female anti-kidnap squad as part of its ‘Safe School Initiative’.

Commandant-General of the NSCDC Ahmed Abubakar Audi disclosed this in Abuja at the special simulation exercise and unveiling.

He said the squad was established as a result of the attacks on schools leading to the loss of lives, noting that the first set of the squad had been deployed to schools in Katsina State and the FCT.

According to Audi, “This is in keeping to my belief that women can make and have been making valuable contributions to nation-building as the special Female Squad will definitely complement the efforts of their male counterparts and work together with sister agencies.”
