Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has disowned a viral video and pictures of a vandalized rail track on social media platforms that are linked to the Abuja-Kaduna rail track.

In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria in Kaduna by the Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Command allayed the fears of all train users that the said video and pictures had nothing to do with Abuja-Kaduna rail track, as the train services are on going without any hindrance.

The statement maintained that information available to Command has it that the video and pictures in circulation emanated from Enugu State, where NSCDC operatives of Enugu Command apprehended some rail track vandals.

In a related development, the Command last Thursday acted on credible information and succeeded in arresting five suspected rail track vandals at Dalle village in Jema’a LGA and recovered two trucks loaded with locomotive railway sleepers.

It pointed out that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and effort is being intensified with a view to identifying all people involved in the destruction of critical national infrastructure.

The statement advised the public to disregard the said video and pictures in circulation attributing it to the Abuja-Kaduna rail track as the two incidents have no direct link whatsoever to the railway service.
