Kwara State Government says it will train all the newly recruited SUBEB teachers to enable them provide quality education to students.

Chairman, Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Shehu Adaramaja stated this while speaking with journalists in Ilorin.

According to him, the newly recruited SUBEB teachers will not be allowed into schools to teach students without being properly trained in the areas of capacity building, methodology of teaching, classroom discipline as well as professional ethics.

He said many of the new teachers graduated over five years ago and are not in touch with modern realities in the teaching profession.

The SUBEB Boss described the recruitment process as transparent, adding that it is the beginning of a new era in the state.

Professor Adaramaja explained that the needs assessment of teachers was one of the criteria used during the hiring and selection of the teacher.

He enjoined the newly recruited SUBEB teachers to be committed and dedicated while discharging their duties.
