The Chief Judge of Kwara state , Justice Suleiman Kawu has called on lawyers to uphold the ethics of the profession to make administration of Justice system better in the country.

Justice Kawu made the call at a seminar organised by the Nigerian Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee held in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Represented by Justice Adebayo Yusuf, Justice Kawu expressed worry over unethical practices by lawyers.

The Chief Judge admonished lawyers not to allow the love for material and monetary gains lure them into shielding illegal activities of their clients.

In a paper presentation titled “Rethinking Ethical Values in the Practice of Law: The Role of Lawyers”, one of the resource person Mr Yusuf Ali SAN urged lawyers to build their practice on the existing ethics of the profession.

Earlier in his address, Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ilorin Branch , Barrister Abdulganiyu Bello advised legal Practitioners to constantly update their knowledge to meet the modern challenges.
