Orphanage Committee in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State has distributed clothes and foodstuff worth thousands of naira to reduce hardship experienced by orphans during Ramadan period.
Chairman of the Committee Alh Lawal Mekaji stated this while distributing the stuff at Riyadissalihin Mosque in Funtua.
Alh Lawal Mekaji emphasised the need for public assistance towards providing the orphans with adequate food, health care, clothing, education and psychosocial support.
He advised muslims to embrace the teaching of prophet Muhammad (SAW) which says Whoever caresses the head of an orphan solely for the sake of Allah, a good deed will be written to his account for every hair over which he passed his hand.
In a remark, the founder of the committee Malam Yusuf Lawal Sarkin Kara expressed satisfaction with the distribution pattern of this year’s relief materials to orphans in the area.
Also speaking, khalifa Aliyu sa’ed Alty Funtua tasked the guidance of the orphans to make judicious use of the items.
